Rotherham's where it's at!
The Moorgate Care Village is a collection of three care homes, carefully placed on one site very close to Rotherham's town centre and round the corner from the local A and E hospital. These homes are surely the finest care homes in the area, boasting the very best facilities all round. All rooms are well above the minimum regulations for room sizes by 25% or more, plus sumptuous en suites, along with acres of day space, wide corridors to all areas and a touch of class throughout. Built in the 1990s, someone must have had a crystal ball, because even now one seldom sees homes built to this quality of specification. In terms of facilities offered to the client, it would be hard to find anywhere better equipped to offer standards of care for the 21st Century. The individual homes are:

• Moorgate Lodge: A home for 56 persons of both nursing care and residential care, with no less than 53 en suited rooms, 48 of them in single roomed accommodation. [ more information ]
• Moorgate Croft: A residential care home for 31 persons, all in single rooms and all en suite. [ more information ]
• Moorgate Hollow: A 24 bedded unit for Alzheimer’s clients and designed in a way that is totally bespoke to the client group, with small unit type living and colour co–ordinated areas which are safe and secure to facilitate the needs of this highly specialist client group. [ more information ]

All three homes sit comfortably on this picturesque sloping site, with extensive long distance views across Rotherham and the moors of South Yorkshire beyond. The whole site has a ‘village community’ atmosphere and rubs along in a friendly unassuming way that the North is famous for! There are wonderful garden areas, pagodas, patios and decked areas to enjoy as well as the wonderful views.

Catering

Now this is in a class of its own! We have our own purpose built detached commercial kitchen, Oliver’s, to serve the needs of our clients of all three homes, radically changing the thinking behind the facilities of most care homes, adding that special hotel feel, whereas the building then has its own tea room/coffee shop, which is open to all visitors to the home as well as the general public – beautifully appointed too! This is perfect for generating a welcoming atmosphere to all the citizens of Rotherham and further afield, giving the homes a high profile as the hub of the local community.

Activities

Where do we start! We have not one, but two Activities Co-ordinators for the homes, who never fail to come up with new and exciting ideas to keep home life here anything but dull. Obviously, there are the usual ones like Bingo, Cards, Painting, Yesteryear Themes, Raffles, Parties, Singalongs, Summer Fetes, etc, etc, but there are many other innovative and special days and evenings to not only keep our residents happy, we have trouble keeping the staff out too! You’ll need to come and see us if you want to be part of the action!

Laundry

We offer a full and comprehensive laundry facility (with the exception of dry cleaning)

Visiting

As you would expect, we offer a complete open house policy here, as you would at home. Visitors come and go at all hours of the day and are always welcome.
