Formerly a rectory, built in 1663, Croston Park is a lovingly restored, Grade 2 listed, country mansion, full of charm and character from the moment you pass through the listed ruins of the grand archway. It lies in an unspoilt conservation area, within no less than two and a quarter acres of magnificent gardens and woodland, adjacent to the River Yarrow, in the friendly and ancient village of Croston, midway between Preston, Southport, Wigan and Chorley.
Nowadays this wonderful example of English Architecture at its historic finest, is home to a centre of excellence, tenderly caring for the elderly and the vulnerable. The combination of the splendour of the surroundings and the quality of care is unrivalled. Croston Park is totally committed to providing the highest standards of care and accommodation and, is unique, in being able to offer a complete range of care services including full residential care or nursing care and respite care. Originally the rector’s private residence the homes charm and character is evident the moment that you pass through its grand arched gateway – itself designated ruins. The building retains many of its original features, yet has been painstakingly refurbished to provide a luxurious home for the elderly with every modern facility. Becoming a care home in 1988, the nursing care wing was added in 1997 with a separate smaller unit created within the home to care for those with dementia. Croston Park aims to provide the highest standards of care for all its clients, whether they are short or long stay, residential, nursing or in need of end of life care. Through our complete range of registration we aim to be able to care for clients no matter how their health changes, offering that all-important continuity.
Our emphasis is on ensuring that our clients feel at home, they are encouraged to bring their own treasured items of furniture, to entertain relatives and guests and to take part in discussions regarding the running of the home. At the same time they, and their relatives, can have peace of mind knowing that care and support will always be there, whenever it is needed. We want to ensure that clients live as fully and happily as possible, whether this be taking part in the wide range of activities at the home, or simply enjoying the delightful surroundings and relaxing in the warm, friendly and safe environment. The dignity, privacy and respect of all of our clients are held above all else. Croston Park recognises that its number one asset is its team of managers, carers and domestic staff, every one of whom has been very carefully chosen for their caring nature and commitment. We have a comprehensive training programme for all staff and a very experienced manager. Bernadette Roe has gained the Registered Managers Award, had twenty years experience in acute care and ten years as a nursing home manager within the private sector. We have gained an Investors in People award in recognition of our staff management practices, and our staff turnover is very low, which helps to build lasting and meaningful relationships with our clients and their loved ones.
